boy-with-headache teen-athleteboy-having-massageWe love to introduce teens and children to massage as a way to learn about their bodies, get relief from aches and pains, help them sleep better, learn to relax, and improve their performance in sports.

Student Athletes: Because the demands of athletics can put quite a strain on the younger body, Release Massage Therapy offers a special 40 minute Student Athlete session for children and teens who are active in sports (ages 6 through college.) In the Student Athlete session, we provide help with injuries, tight muscles, and overall exhaustion. We are happy to teach healing practices which can be used at home to stay healthy and active. We also offer kinesiology taping a way to help reduce pain associated with training. If your student would like more than a 40 minute session, feel free to sign up for one of our regular massage sessions.

Craniosacral Therapy is a great option for teens and children.  It is performed fully clothed and is a light touch therapy that illicits deep relaxation.  Children with sleep disorders have been known to fall asleep during their sessions.

If you have a young child who is receiving a massage for the first time (other than Craniosacral Therapy), you might consider a 30 minute initial session.
